ETHICAL PRINCIPLES

Authors: The contributions sent for publication must be unpublished, not having been previously published or awaiting resolution elsewhere. Any other situation should be pointed out to the Editors in order to guarantee transparency and safeguard the originality of the article. Failure to comply with these principles constitutes a reason to reject it.

The authorship must be based on the following 4 criteria (Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE)):

-  Substantial contributions to the conception or design of the work; or the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data for the work;
-  Drafting the work or revising it critically for important intellectual content;
-  Final approval of the version to be published; AND
-  Agreement to be accountable for all aspects of the work in ensuring that questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work are appropriately investigated and resolved.

All those designated as authors should meet all four criteria for authorship, and all who meet the four criteria should be identified as authors. Contributors who meet fewer than all 4 of the above criteria for authorship should not be listed as authors, but they should be acknowledged.

The authors must clearly indicate any conflict of interest. Collaborations that have received direct or indirect financial support from third parties must clearly indicate these sources of financing.

All the data provided by the authors will be authentic. If they identify an error in a published article, they must report it to the magazine immediately.

Reviewers : Manuscript reviewers should be objective in their judgements and withdraw themselves from reviewing should there be any conflict of interests between Reviewer and Authors or respective research or funding entities.
Reviewers should alert the Editors to any published or submitted work essentially corresponding to the content under review.
Reviewers should maintain confidentiality in all aspects related to manuscripts, including information about the Authors.

Publons
For the public acknowledgment of their work, Ge-conservación encourages Reviewers to register on the Publons platform https://publons.com/about/home/ and log their respective reviews (which remain unidentified, thus keeping their anonymity).

Good editorial practices in gender equality
Ge-conservación journal is committed to promoting equality between men and women, giving visibility to women's scientific work, and promoting the use of inclusive language in scientific publications. This is reflected in the paritary structure of the Editorial Committee and in the rules on inclusive language that we include in the instructions for authors and reviewers. The analysis of the percentage of authors and reviewers of the journal also reflects a majority presence of women.

Use of inclusive language: By writing an article, we are transmitting a way of being and thinking. At Ge-conservación journal, we have an unwaivable commitment to equity and respect for all people, respecting and celebrating diversity. For this reason, the articles will avoid any claim of superiority for reasons of sex, class, culture, ethnic origin or any other difference between people. Authors should ensure that they use bias-free language, avoid stereotypes, and commit to inclusive language.
For papers written in English, the guide published by the American Phylosophical Association can be used as an orientation, available in the following link.
