A conservação e o restauro do património negativo

Resumo

Este artigo centra-se no problema do património negativo, ou seja, os bens culturais que são completamente rejeitados como tal por uma parte significativa da sociedade, embora sejam considerados como património por outra parte (por exemplo, o património Franquista). Em particular, é considerado o problema da sua conservação e restauro. Esta questão está relacionada com a forma como a deterioração deve ser avaliada, com a necessidade de participação da sociedade na tomada de decisões e com o papel que instituições como os museus podem desempenhar na conservação e ressignificação deste património complexo e ambivalente. Uma questão fundamental é que os critérios a seguir para o restauro de uma determinada peça só podem ser formalizados depois de se estabelecer qual o significado, o valor e a função da peça em causa.

Biografias Autor

José Manuel Barros García, Universidad Politécnica de Valencia

Doctor en Bellas Artes (2001) y Profesor Titular en la Universitat Politècnica de València, donde trabaja desde 2004. Ha trabajado también como conservador-restaurador de patrimonio pictórico, interviniendo en numerosas obras, tanto de colecciones privadas como de instituciones públicas. Es autor del libro Imágenes y sedimentos (2005).

Ruth Taberner Sanchis, Conservadora-restauradora

Máster en Conservación y Restauración de Bienes Culturales por la Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) con especialidad en restauración de pintura de caballete y de documento gráfico. Ha colaborado en el Fondo de Arte y Patrimonio de la UPV y también ha trabajado como conservadora-restauradora en varias empresas.
